Some cabins will rent better than others. There are some things to keep in mind when purchasing an overnight rental unit.

One important fact to keep in mind is what rents well today might not rent as well in years to come. here's an example:

What is requested most in cabins today are pool tables and game rooms. In the past, this was not a highly requested item. Today, in order to have a top producing cabin you must have a pool table or game room. Newer cabins have them, many older cabins don’t.

In the past year, the addition of a large screen plasma TV and a full service digital cable or satellite system has added thousands of dollars to the cabins income.

Here are a few more items that seem to be popular:

Cabin communities with pools, clubhouse, etc.
Log cabins with lots of decks.
Tongue and groove wood interiors.
Lots of glass to bring in the outdoors.
Vaulted ceilings (tongue and groove finished)
Jacuzzi tubs
Hot tubs
Open floor plans
Seclusion
